Totem Design: From Concept to 3D Model
Every project begins with a concept—an idea that takes shape through our 3D design software.
In the case of this illuminated totem, the goal was to create a structure that was both functional and visually striking, reflecting the professionalism and modern identity of the dental clinic.
Using advanced modeling software, we defined every detail of the totem, from its overall dimensions to the folds of the aluminum composite material (ACM).
This material was chosen for its light weight, durability, and ease of fabrication, making it the ideal choice for a long-lasting, high-quality installation.
Bending Development and CNC Milling of Cutouts
Once the 3D model was finalized, we moved on to the physical production of the components.
The ACM panels were cut and folded using a state-of-the-art CNC milling machine. This advanced equipment allows us to achieve highly precise cuts and bends, ensuring that every panel of the totem fits together perfectly.
The CNC mill was also used to create the cutouts—those sections that allow LED light to shine through the logo and custom text.
This phase demands millimetric precision, as even the slightest error could compromise both the visual appeal and the functionality of the totem.
The Steel Framework of the Totem: Strength and Stability
After completing the composite aluminum processing, we moved on to building the steel framework.
The framework is a crucial step, as it ensures the stability and safety of the totem, especially in outdoor environments. The steel structure consists of columns, crossbars, and sturdy feet, designed to support the weight of the ACM panels and LED modules, as well as withstand harsh weather conditions.
Each component was carefully welded and inspected through quality checks to ensure perfect integration with the rest of the project.
The Totem’s Lighting: LED Modules
The heart of every illuminated totem is, of course, the lighting.
For this project, we selected high-quality LED modules, known for their energy efficiency and long lifespan. The LED modules were strategically placed within the structure to ensure even and vibrant illumination, highlighting every detail of the logo and the perforated text.
During this phase, it is crucial to ensure that each LED module is functioning perfectly and that the wiring is done safely and neatly. We also conducted power-up tests to check the intensity and distribution of the light, making any necessary adjustments.
Application of 3D Letters
As the final touch, we applied 3D letters, a distinctive element that adds depth and elegance to the totem.
The letters, also made from acrylic material, were securely fixed using techniques that ensure long-lasting durability and optimal resistance. The 3D letters were designed to seamlessly integrate with the overall design of the totem, creating an eye-catching visual effect both during the day and at night, thanks to the backlit LED illumination.

After hours of design, processing, and assembly, the illuminated totem is finally ready to be installed at the dental clinic.
